PHP is a computer scripting language, originally designed for producing dynamic web pages.

PHP is a widely-used server side scripting language that is especially suited for web development and can be embedded into HTML. It generally runs on a web server (in most of the cases Apache web server is used), taking PHP code as its input and creating web pages as output.

PHP Processor with Apache generates HTML output to browser and the surfer or visitor to your site cannot see the original source code of your site which interacts with the user.

It can be deployed on most web servers and on almost every operating system and platform free of charge.

PHP has many open-source libraries included with the core build, and many more are readily available. Extensions exist to help PHP interface with a number of systems, including IRC, a number of compression formats, and Windows API.

PHP MySQL has been installed on more than 20 million websites and 1 million web servers. About 40% websites in Internet is run by PHP.

PHP has occasionally been criticized for what are viewed by some as security flaws, in comparison to languages such as ASP.
